GREAT AMERICAN CLEAN-UP REPORT

April, May and June was the Great American Clean-Up".  Keep Northeast Nebraska Beautiful (KNNB) celebrates these months with an intense information/education program throughout the schools in its eleven-county area.

During April and May, KNNB Coordinator Donna Christiansen has hit the road presenting an anti-litter/recycling program to K-6th graders.  Donna has covered quite a few miles, visiting multiple classrooms in 12 schools.  For a total of 35 presentations to 919 students and 81 teachers.

Using stories, dialogue, videos and educational materials, she urged the audiences to

1. Not litter

2. Pick up litter

3. Reduce waste

4. Reuse products

 5. Recycle

6. Close the Loop by buying recycled.

The video used was "Recycle Rex” produced by Disney Educational Productions.
