1.      Call to Order – 1:30 p.m.

2.      1:35 p.m.  Dave Boschult – Ag Inspection Specialist  Presenting 2004 evaluation for Noxious Weed Program – Each year Mr. Boschult evaluates the Noxious Weed Program and will be presenting his evaluation to the County Board.  Out of a possible score of 3400, points his report reflects a score of 3384.

 

3.      Review and Approve Payroll Claims

 

4.      Review Resumes for Road Foreman, Highway Supt. and Planning & Zoning Administrator

 

5.       Resolution of Support in conjunction with the Rural Heritage Development Initiative. 05C-016.  Loess Hills RC&D request that the County Board goes on record of the proposal as an innovative plan to integrate and coordinate ongoing efforts by a number of communities along the Highway 12 and 20 Corridor to develop a new model for heritage tourism.

 

6.      Pat Foust- Resolution 05C-017 supporting Homeland Security Funding.  Resolution states that the Commissioners support applications for Homeland Security funds.  These resolutions are required from each governing entity in the County and are a requirement of Nebraska Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

 

7.      Resolution 05C-018 – Budget Resolution increasing the Election Commissioner's Budget.

 

8.      Resolution 05C-019 – Budget Resolution increasing the Legal Services Budget.

 

9.      Jail Project -

             9A.  Resolution Authorizing the issuance of correctional facilities Bonds (Sales Tax) & supporting documents.

              9B.  Management Contract by and between the Dakota County Jail/Correctional Facilities Agency, a joint entity created required under the Amended City/County Joint Agreement.  The agency is being formed for the purpose of owning and operating jail/correction facilities.

               9C.  Ground Lease- County is leasing the real estate that the Correction facility sits on to the agency named in 7B.

                9D  Lease Purchase Agreement – These all are necessary as a result of the amended Interlocal Agreement between the County and City of South Sioux City.

 

10.  Agreement between the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and Dakota County for said services to vacate the courthouse and move to the Siouxland Family Center.   If adopted the County will pay $6,800 annually to satisfy our statutory obligation of providing the department 1700 square feet of space in the courthouse.

 

11.   Homer South Bridge BRO-7022(11) This is the bridge at Homer that has been under a lot of criticism.  A committee had a meeting with the land owners Thursday May 19th and the board is expected to decide what action is needed to pursue completion of this project.
