The Dakota County Sheriff's Department furnishes the following programs to the public:

  • Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) in all the schools in the County

  • G.R.E.A.T. offered this year (1997) in the South Sioux City Schools with hopes of expanding to the other schools.

  • K-9 programs for all organizations requesting it.

  • Community Service help on all public functions such as:

  • McGruff

  • Fingerprint clinics

  • Bicycle safety

  • Assistance in starting neighborhood watch programs

  • Halloween safety seminars

  • Conflict resolution seminars

  • More
