Tax
askings have increased by $66,623.43 from the 1998-1999 budget.
Increases the County faced in this year’s budget includes additional
personnel costs due to an extra pay period in 1999 and the first half of a long
awaited paving project on the Hubbard-Jackson road.
This coupled with a decrease of $88,890 in state aid to subdivisions made
keeping property taxes in check a real challenge.
The
County is making every effort to keep tax askings down while maintaining an
adequate level of reserves and providing the best service possible.
