DAKOTA COUNTY PLANNING & ZONING: November 21, 2006

 

            MINUTES

 

Vice-president Jim Jepsen called the regular meeting of the Dakota County Planning and Zoning Commission to order at 7:00 P.M. and the Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.

 

Present were: Gene Cantrell, Jim Cosgrove, Jim Jepsen, Dick McCabe, Dick McNear, Neil Miller, Marlan Millard, and Martin Rohde. Also present: Planning and Zoning Administrator Dennis Reinert and Jackie Hartnett, representing the Dakota County Commissioners. Also present Adam Beermann, Tawnya Beermann, Randy Crombie, Brent Tripp, and Chad Kehrt.

 

Moved by Gene Cantrell, second by Dick McNear, to approve the minutes of the October 17 & 19, 2006 regular meeting. Motion carried.

 

Adam Beermann addressed the commission concerning a 2500-head hog confinement to be located south of his residence. Discussion was held.

 

Moved by Neil Miller, seconded by Marlan Millard to support the concept of this confinement.  Roll call vote, motion carried.

 

Chad Kehrt came before the commission representing Olsson Associates in conjunction with the city of South Sioux, referring to storm water runoff.  After reviewing the map that Mr. Kehrt gave to the commission members, all could see the area in question was a matter for South Sioux City and Dakota City to govern.

 

New language was reviewed to be added to Section 600.6 Performance Standards.  These changes were discussed.

 

Moved by Gene Cantrell, second by Jim Cosgrove to accept these changes.  Roll call vote, motion carried.

 

Business brought before the commission was discussed. The minutes from future Planning & Zoning meetings will be on a county web page.

 

Moved by Gene Cantrell, second by Martin Rohde to adjourn.  Motion carried.

 

Meeting was duly adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
