Veterans Discharge Records

Our office will record your discharge record. You simply need to bring it down and give us adequate time to file it. We will then return the original record to you. Information contained in the Discharge Record shall be confidential and made available only to the veteran, county veterans service officer, or post service officer of a recognized veterans organization per Nebraska Statute 23-1309.

Certified Copy of Veterans Discharge Records

Certified copies will only be made available to the veteran, county veterans service officer, or post service officer of a recognized veterans organization. Military discharge records cannot be provided to relatives of the veteran, only to the veteran himself/herself per Nebraska Statute 23-1309. The applicant must also provide photo identification.

You may come into our office located at 1601 Broadway, Dakota City NE to obtain a certified copy. Or you can print out an application for certified copy of veterans discharge records and fill it out then mail it into: (there is no fee)
